This department has been vested with the responsibility of maintaining and developing the health care system in W.B. Public health, sanitation and hospitals are the exclusive responsibilities of the State.
MSVP of all Medical Colleges and Superintendents of all District and Sub Division Hospitals are authorized to issue Compulsory Health Certificate to pilgrims for holy Amamathji Yatra, 2015.
State Level Task Force will function as the Apex policy making committee. It will provide overall guidance towards elimination of Kala-azar from the State of West Bengal by 2015.
Doctors are to prescribe combination drugs with two molecules in generic names in the OPD, IPD and also in emergency department in the interest of better patient care services.
Principal/ Director of the Institution need to verify and authenticate the filled in proforma from the Service Book and original mark sheets as submitted by candidate in triplicate.
All doctors whether in private or Government service shall henceforth notify every diagnosed Kala-azar case to the state health authorities within 48 hours w.e.f. 01.01.2015.
Two-year Course on Diploma in Family Medicine to be conducted by the Institute of Health & Family Welfare collaboratively with Kolkata Medical College, R. G. Kar Medical College and Calcutta National Medical College.
Paying beds and cabins have now been converted into free beds. Superintendent of hospitals should allot these free beds for maternity, paediatrics and other IPD services to ease out congestion.
Applications are invited from Male candidates for admission to three & half years G.N.M. Training Course in Nursing Training Schools under the Govt. of West Bengal. The last six months of the G.N.M. Course will be for internship.
Food & Supplies Department will provide rice (@ of 5 kg per month), wheat/atta (@ 2.5 Kg per month), musur dal (@ of 1 Kg per month) and Bengal gram (@ of 1 kg per month) free of cost to each such mother and child.
A one day awareness campaign to display Strength of AYUSH in the State will be held on 19/09/2014 at 10 a.m. in the Auditorium of N.R.S Medical College & Hospital, Kolkata.
