Department of a Land & Land Reforms implements land reforms. Therefore, it is essential to upgrade its capabilities for implementation of land reforms in the interest of the landless, marginal and small farmers.

Certificates/ Valid Documents of Intestate/ Testamentary Succession

1. Succession Certificate issue by 1st Class Judicial Magistrate. 2. Legal Heir Certificate issued by the Collector of the district concerned. 3. Order of execution issued by the Competent Court in pursuance of Will or Gift Deed. 4. Legal Heir Certificate issued by the Local Panchayat Pradhan/ Councilor of local Municipality/ Municipal Corporation/ Chairman/ Chairperson of Municipality/ Local MLA & MP.

Waiver of Mutation Fees on Succession in West Bengal

Governor is pleased to waive, the processing fees for mutation of land records where land is transferred to descendants by way of intestate or testamentary succession from parents to their offspring, or by way of gift deed.

West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal Act, 1997

An Act to provide for the setting up of a Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal in pursuance of article 323B of the Constitution of India and for the adjudication and trial by such Tribunal of disputes, claims, objections and applications relating to, or arising out of, land reforms or tenancy in land and other matters under a specified Act and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

Payment of Salami in Installments by Tea Gardens

Indian Tea Association and other stakeholders have been praying for getting facility for payment of salami in instalments considering the present stressed condition of tea industry. Many tea gardens could not get the lease renewed as they could not make payment of salami in full and at a time.

Nijo Griha, Nijo Bhumi Project for Homeless People

Government of West Bengal has launched Nijo Griha, Nijo Bhumi project. Under this project, ownership of five decimals of land per family of houseless agricultural labourers, artisans and fishermen has been given.
