Land Reforms
Department of a Land & Land Reforms implements land reforms. Therefore, it is essential to upgrade its capabilities for implementation of land reforms in the interest of the landless, marginal and small farmers.
Considering the rapid hike of rate of rent in the market, the rent shall be enhanced upto 20% of the present rent after every three years instead of existing 20% after every five years. Enhancement of rent shall be made automatically after expiry of every three years from the date of possession.
Governor is pleased to allow the various departments of the State Government and the Central Government department to go in for the direct purchase of land for public purpose.

An Act to amend the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955. industrial park or industrial hub or industrial estate or financial hub or logistic hub shall be substituted.
1. Succession Certificate issue by 1st Class Judicial Magistrate. 2. Legal Heir Certificate issued by the Collector of the district concerned. 3. Order of execution issued by the Competent Court in pursuance of Will or Gift Deed. 4. Legal Heir Certificate issued by the Local Panchayat Pradhan/ Councilor of local Municipality/ Municipal Corporation/ Chairman/ Chairperson of Municipality/ Local MLA & MP.
Government of West Bengal has launched Nijo Griha, Nijo Bhumi project. Under this project, ownership of five decimals of land per family of houseless agricultural labourers, artisans and fishermen has been given.
Land is of critical significance to the vast majority of the poor who derive their livelihood from agriculture. Physical subsistence, procuring a decent, dignified livelihood and the well being of entire family depends on land.

Guidelines for one-time regularization of brick fields/ kilns which were set up on agricultural land on or before 1st September, 2000. Applications should be made to the District Land & Land Reforms Officer.
