PAR Department is mainly engaged in controlling the cadre borne in IAS, WBCS (Executive), West Bengal Secretariat Service, West General Service, West Bengal Assistants & Typists.
Administrative Calendar, 2025-26, is being published. Now in its 12th year, the Calendar continues to serve as, a comprehensive outline of the wide range of works undertaken by the various Departments throughout the year.
Revision of rates of Administrative Allowance/ Special Allowance for the field level WBCS(Exe) officers e.g. Sub-Divisional Officer, Additional District Magistrate & District Magistrate has been under consideration of the Government for sometime past.
The Indian Administrative Service officers posted in the various Department in different capacity such as Joint Secretary/ Additional secretary shall now be re-designated in the following manner:
W.B.C.S. (Exe) officers on movement to prerevised scale No. 17 shall be designated as Deputy Secretary while posted in the Secretariat Deptt. or Ex-Officio Deputy Secretary when posted outside the State Secretariat.
A web-based monitoring system namely, the Administrative Calendar Compliance Reporting System (ACCRS), has also been formulated, which helps in regular review of the progress, efficacy and shortcomings of the various schemes and programmes set out in the calendar, thus helping in proper and timely follow-up at different levels.
Governor has been pleased to create 166 (One hundred and sixty six) additional posts in the rank of OSD/ Registrar/ Special Officer, Assistant Secretary and Deputy Secretary under West Bengal Secretariat Service (WBSS).
The West Bengal Group – D Recruitment Board shall be responsible for selecting and recommending candidates for direct recruitment to group D posts via a transparent mechanism.
Since 2005, there have been many changes in the functioning of the Government requiring modification in Secretarial Procedure. Over time, governance has witnessed a number of reforms. Introduction of e-Office in particular and IT enabled services in general has inculcated changes in office procedure.
Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure raising the rate of Dearness Allowance to 90% with effect from 01.07.2013, from the existing rate of 80%.
Introduction of mandatory Annual Health Checkup for the WBCS (Exe) officers of the age of 40 years or above in line with the provisions made in this regard for AIS & Central Civil Service Officers.
