Public Works Department provides infrastructural support for both original and repair works to all the departments directly under the Govt. of West Bengal.
For streamlining the process, it has been decided to introduce single window entry of all projects having multi-discipline [Architecture, Civil, Electrical/ IT (Electrical), Mechanical] vetting works through the Chief-Engineer, Planning (South Zone), PWD.
Executive Engineer concerned shall arrange for the sale of Government properties by public auction for and on behalf of the Governor. Under no circumstances shall any Government property be disposed of by private arrangement.

A security deposit of 12.5 lakhs was necessary for exemption of earnest money deposit while participating in tender. Such provision from Public Works Code is deleted.
