NOTIFICATION
In conformity with the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, Government of West Bengal in School Education Department has decided to include class V in all primary schools of West Bengal in phased manner.
Initial list of 17996 primary, schools have been identified for this purpose for inclusion of class V from academic year 2020 after verification of minimum infrastructure and other facilities. Concerned District Inspector of schools (Primary Education) will report to the Commissioner, School Education, West Bengal, in case of any difficulty.
The Upper Primary/ Secondary/ Higher Secondary school may continue to admit students in class V keeping provision, as per Department’s Memo no. 879-SE(EE)/10M-186/2010 dated 22.11.2019, for admission of all class V pass out students of the upgraded primary schools of the locality, specially located in same building or premises in class VI in next academic year (2021).
