MEMORANDUM
Sub: Procurement of drugs/ formulations and medical consumables for Janani Sishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK).
A guideline was issued vide Memo No. H/TDE/26/M-02/2012 Dt. 10.01.2012 on the above subject requesting all MSVPs, Superintendents and others to select a supplier through open tender for procurement of drugs and medical consumables under JSSK scheme.
Meanwhile Fair Price Medicine Shops have been established in some hospitals and by March, 2013, 35 such Fair Price Medicine Shops will come into operation covering all medical college hospitals, all district hospitals and some selected other hospitals. As per agreement with the private partners who set up Fair Price Medicine Shops, it has been stipulated that these shops would mandatorily stock all medicines formulations and medical consumables under JSSK. Since these medicines shops have been set up through open tender, the concerned MSVPs of all medical college & hospitals and Superintendents of hospitals where such fair price shops are located shall procure drugs & consumables under JSSK from these shops. However, where there is pre-existing agreement with a shop to supply drugs & consumables under JSSK, procurement should be made from FPMS after expiry of such agreement.
In hospitals where no FPMS is located, procurement of drugs & consumables under JSSK will be as per prescribed norms contained in Memo No. H/TDE/26/M-02/2012 Dt. 10.01.2012.
