Re-Enrolment under Cashless Medical Treatment Scheme

Notification

As per Para 4 of Notification No. 8435-F(MED), Dt. 29/08/2011 of Finance Department the State Government employee/ Government pensioner who is enrolled under the West Bengal Health Scheme, 2008 and later under West Bengal Health for All Employees and Pensioners Cashless Medical Treatment Scheme, 2014 shall not be eligible to be enrolled again if he/she opts out of the scheme for whatever reason.

However since successful introduction of West Bengal Health for All Employees and Pensioners Cashless Medical Treatment Scheme, 2014 (Cashless Health Scheme) requests from various corners and from the Government employees/ pensioners who have already opted out have been coming in for giving them a one time chance to enrol themselves under the said Cashless Scheme and the Government has been considering, for sometimes, past to give them a chance for re-enrolment themselves including their dependent family members under the West Bengal Health for All Employees and Pensioners Cashless Medical Treatment Scheme, 2014.

Now the Governor has been pleased to extend the benefit of the West Bengal Health for All Employees and Pensioners Cashless Medical Treatment Scheme, 2014 to such opted out employees/ pensioners of Government of West Bengal and their dependent family members by opening a onetime window in relaxation of para 4 of F.D. Notification No. 8435-F(MED), Dt. 29/08/2011 subject to conditions that:

1) The re-enrolment process under the West Bengal Health for All Employees and Pensioners Cashless Medical Treatment Scheme, 2014 should be completed within 31st March, 2018 from the date of issuance of this Notification.

2) Their re-enrolment will be treated as afresh and no retrospective effect be given.
