NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the power conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the constitution of India, the Governor is pleased to make the following rules regarding recruitment to the post of Assistant Superintendent (Non-Medical) under the Department of Health & Family Welfare Medical Administration Branch), Government of West Bengal:-

Rules

The method of and the qualifications required for recruitment to the posts of Assistant Superintendent (Non-Medical) under the Department of Health & Family Welfare (Medical Administration Branch), Government of West Bengal, shall be as detailed below:-

(1) Method of Recruitment:

(a) 90% of the total sanctioned posts shall be filled up by selection (direct recruitment) through the Public Service Commission, West Bengal; and

(b) 10% of the total sanctioned posts shall be filled up by departmental promotion from the posts of Ward Master, in the Cadre of the West Bengal Subordinate Health Services (Non-Medical Technical Personnel), having qualifications prescribed for direct recruitment and at least 8 (eight) years experience of work as service as Ward Master;

(2) Qualifications for direct recruitment:

(i) Essential:-

(a) A Degree in any discipline from a recognized University;

(b) Postgraduate Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Hospital Administration or Hospital Management from a recognized University or Institution;

(c) Knowledge of Bengali – spoken & written;

(ii) Desirable:-

Two years managerial or administrative experience in any reputed medical care facility (having at least 200 beds) in the Government or Non-Government Sector;

(3) Age:-

(a) In the case of direct recruitment age shall not be more than thirty-two years on the first day of January of the year of advertisement.

Provided that the age may be relaxable for the candidates belonging to the categories of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes as per Government orders etc. in force;

(b) In the case of recruitment by promotion, the upper age limit shall be fifty-four years.
