You can be infected by breathing in the virus if you are within close proximity of someone who has COVID-19, or by touching a contaminated surface and then your eyes, nose or mouth.
Schools shall open for class VIII to XII from 3rd February 2022. All government offices including public undertakings shall function with 75% of total employee strength.
Coaching centres for competitive examinations may remain open with 50% of capacity at a time following COVID appropriate protocols and regular sanitization of the centres.
Only asymptomatic and fully vaccinated people should preferably attend the public gatherings following covid appropriate behaviour.
State Government is currently required to incur heavy unforeseen expenditure to combat the situation arisen due to such pandemic outbreak. The 21 days lockdown which is currently in force throughout India, has severely affected the economy of the Country and the State.
Government of West Bengal has decided to re-open schools on campus for the students of class IX, X, XI and XII with effect from 16.11.2021 maintaining all Covid norms and protocols.
All shopping complexes, malls, beauty parlours, cinema halls, restaurants and bars, sports complexes, gyms, spas and swimming pools shall remain closed (even while home deliveries and online services shall remain permitted).
In case the person has history of coming in contact with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 in the last 14 days and the person is asymptomatic then the person must be kept in home quarantine for 14 days from the day of exposure.
Restrictions relating to movement of people and vehicles between 11 PM to 5 AM shall continue to be in force but shall be relaxed for Christmas and New Year celebrations during 24th December 2021 to 1st January 2022.
Free treatment for COVID-19 patients shall be provided in Government Hospitals/ Government-requisitioned private hospital with an additional financial assistance of Rs 1.00 Lakh and a death benefit of Rs 10.00 Lakh.
All the Departments and other establishments shall start functioning with the officers of and above the rank of Deputy Secretary or equivalent and support staff of Group C and below not exceeding 25% of the existing strength each day with effect from 20th April 2020.
