The teacher education programme leading to the Diploma in Elementary Education aims at preparing teachers for the elementary stage of education, i.e., classes I-VIII.
Name and Address of N.C.T.E. (National Council for Teacher Education) Recognized D.El.Ed. (Diploma in Elementary Education) Institutes for the Session, 2018-2020.
Total marks obtained should be the aggregate of the best five including at least one Language compulsorily, but excluding EVS if it is not one of the elective subjects.
A Candidate applying for admission to the Two Year D. El. Ed. Course in an institution, recognized by the NCTE, and affiliated to the WBBPE should pass the H.S (+2) Examination.
Regarding Admission to the 2-year D.El.Ed. Course under Regular/ Face to Face Mode for the Session 2025-2027 in D.EI.Ed. Institutes Affiliated with West Bengal Board of Primary Education
Primary school teachers appointed after 03.09.2001 having B. Ed or equivalent qualification should obtain 6 months Special Training to be conducted with the approval of the National Council for Teacher Education.

D.EI.Ed. Part-ll Theoretical Examination of the candidates for the Session 2023-2025 including the continuing candidates for the Session 2021-2023 & 2022-2024, will be held as per the following schedule:
Persons enrolled in NCTE/RCI Recognized Institutions and pursuing Elementary Teacher Training Courses may apply for TET on and from 15/11/2017 to 30/11/2017.
