Sub: Provisional recognition for up-gradation of 44 (forty four) High Schools to Higher Secondary Level during the academic session of 2014.

Sir,

I am directed to refer to the above-noted subject and to say that the School Education Department, Government of West Bengal hereby recommends provisional recognition for up-gradation of 44 (forty four) High Schools to Higher Secondary Level to introduce Higher Secondary level General Stream Courses for the academic session of 2014 as per list of schools detailed in Annexure – A (copy enclosed).

Recommended Streams along with subjects have been proposed by the CSE, WB at Annexure-B (copy enclosed). The Council may consider the list while approving the subjects in the recognition memo for introduction in next academic session.

Each up-graded school will be provided additional teaching posts not exceeding 03 (three) nos. per school, sanction order of which will be issued by the CSE, WB on receiving recognition memo. It is not necessary to mention the name of posts in advance before sanction but to send a list of three (03) posts for each school for approval from the Department. Till such time the upgraded classes should be attended to by existing teaching strengths of the institution.

Necessary measures for provisional recognition for up-gradation of the said schools may please be taken at the earliest under intimation to this Department.

The matter is extremely urgent.
