Governor is pleased to establish a Board by the name ‘The West Bengal Khambu Rai Development Board’ with its Head Office in Darjeeling, District Darjeeling, West Bengal.
Backward Classes Welfare (Anagrasar Kalyan) Department works for social, economic and cultural development of the people belonging to SC, ST, OBC in West Bengal.

Each scheme with estimated cost up to Rs. 3,50,000/- for General work will require technical vetting by Sub-Assistant Engineer of this department or any Technical Officer of same rank.
The aims and objects of the Board shall be to preserve, promote and safeguard the language, traditional folk art, folk music, folk dance and folk culture of the Gurung community.

Head Office of ‘Tamang Development and Cultural Board’ is in the District of Darjeeling, West Bengal, under the administrative control of the Tribal Development Department, Government of West Bengal.
The aims and objects of the Board shall be to preserve, promote and safeguard the language, traditional dance, traditional festival and culture of the Kurmi community.
Stipulated time limit of providing the service of Issuance of Caste Certificates to SC/ST/OBC is 4 (four) weeks from the date of submission of application.
Certificate Issuing Authorities is to conduct proper verification before issuance of SC, ST, OBC castes certificates to avoid erroneous issuance.
A certificate is to be issued by all the Head of the Institutions, that all the eligible SC/ST students of classes V to VIII of his/her school for the year 2014-15 are not left out in Awardee-list.
