Public Works Department provides infrastructural support for both original and repair works to all the departments directly under the Govt. of West Bengal.
To avoid such damages and for the smooth vehicular movement it is hereby directed that no Speed Breakers/ Humps over the roads would be constructed, without getting Departmental concurrence.
1. Matters related to Works of P.W. Directorate. 2. Matters related to Accounts and Budget of P.W. Directorate. 3. All cases of Compassionate Appointment in the Department. 4. Common Service Branch including booking of Circuit houses and Banga Bhaban.
In respect of introduction of Online System of Self Appraisal Report in respect of Group-A Officers of P.W. Deptt., Govt. of W.B., the Governor is pleased in interest of Public Service to nominate the following Nodal Officers:
Incorporation of a clause in the NIeT for building works of value less than Rs. 25.00 crore, composite in nature, having predominantly civil works with electrical components less than 25% of the total estimated amount put to tender.
Deduction of tax at source from the payment made to the Supplier of taxable goods or Services or both where the total value of such supply, under a contract, exceeding to Rs. 2,50,000/- only.
The electrical wing of PWD would only prescribe the capacity of pump motor sites depending on the yield of the tubewell as suggested by the civil wing.
To reorganize and restructure the 02 (two) circles under Public Works Department namely, State Highway Circle-IV and National Highway Circle-III with their administrative jurisdiction under (Roads) Dte.
In view of introduction of Integrated Finance Branch in Public Works Department a need was felt to reconstitute the existing Tender Committee for different wings of this department.
Constitution of Safety Cell under PWD for ensuring continuous maintenance and services of major government buildings including auditoriums, stadiums, hospitals etc.
All DDOs under PWD should note that the fund, specifically allotted under the non salaried heads, shall be withdrawn unconditionally, unless utilized within two (02) months from the date of the allotment of fund.
