Public Works Department provides infrastructural support for both original and repair works to all the departments directly under the Govt. of West Bengal.
Executive Engineer concerned shall arrange for the sale of Government properties by public auction for and on behalf of the Governor. Under no circumstances shall any Government property be disposed of by private arrangement.
The nominal muster roll (Bengal Form No. 4794) is the initial record of the labour employed each day on a work, and must be written up daily by the subordinate deputed for the purpose.
No officer should correspond direct with an authority superior to the officer under whom he is immediately serving, or with the State Government or the Government of India.
To improve the functional efficiency, total working jurisdiction of Public Works Department over the state will be split in three zones namely North Zone, West Zone and South Zone headed by Chief Engineers.
Implement the concept of three zones namely North Zone, West Zone and South Zone under Public Works Department for better supervision and monitoring of the projects spreading all over the different districts of the state.
Governor is pleased to accept the shifting of DDO ship of the following DDOs mentioned below at Col.1 from the treasury mentioned at col.3 to the Treasury mentioned at col. 4 & 5 respectively under TR 4.086 of WBTR, 2005.
A security deposit of 12.5 lakhs was necessary for exemption of earnest money deposit while participating in tender. Such provision from Public Works Code is deleted.
In view of introduction of Integrated Finance Branch in Public Works Department a need was felt to reconstitute the existing Tender Committee for different wings of this department.
The different circles under NH Wing of PW (R) Dte. have been reorganized vide Notification No. 236 dt. 27.12.2013. Now, the Governor is pleased to change the jurisdiction of Sub-Divisions under various NH Divisions of NH Wing of PW (R) Dte.
In partial modification of Notification No. 236 dated 27.12.2013, the Governor is pleased in the interest of public service to make certain modifications in reallocation of duties of NH Divisions under NH Wing of P.W. (Roads) Dte.
