Public Works Department provides infrastructural support for both original and repair works to all the departments directly under the Govt. of West Bengal.
Reorganization of different Circles under PW Dte., PW (R) Dte. and PW (CB) Dte. specially with the object to implement the concept of three zones namely North Zone, West Zone and South Zone for better supervision and monitoring of the projects.
Engage 03 Assistant Engineers on contractual basis for a period of 06 months from the date of their engagement for maintenance and upkeep of the Nabanna and Writers’ Buildings.
There are four main stages in the project for a work, namely, administrative approval, expenditure sanction, technical sanction, and appropriation or re-appropriation of funds.
The columns should be filled with due care and attention and after devoting adequate time. Any attempt to fill the report in a casual or superficial manner will be easily discernible to the higher authorities.
The Measurement Book must be looked upon as the most important record, since it is the basis of all accounts of quantities, whether of work done by daily labour or by the piece work system or by contract, or of materials received, which have to be counted or measured.
Governor is pleased, in the interest public service, to engage Sub-Assistant Engineers on contractual basis through placement agency of WBHDCL in different divisions of PWD at a consolidate remuneration of Rs. 15000/- only.
The works, so far, looked after by the PWD (C.B. Branch) shall henceforth be looked after by the respective Branches of the P.W. Department.
It appears that a good number of officers and staff under the department purchase/sell immovable/movable property without taking prior permission of the Government, which is obligatory under rule 5(2) of West Bengal Services (Duties, Rights and Obligation of the Govt. Employee) Rules 1980.
With a view to improve efficiency of the Scheduled-‘B’ (English) Personal Assistant working under P.W. Dte., the Governor is pleased, in the interest of public service, to introduce a new transfer policy with immediate effect.
Re-organize the Caretaking Estts. of Writers’ Buildings, New Sectt. Buildings, Bhavani Bhavan, Khadya Bhavan and CSTC Buildings for Caretaking as well as Maintenance & Construction.
