NOTIFICATION

Sub:- Modification of the procedure of credit of interest by Directorate of Pension, Provident Fund and Group Insurance , West Bengal (DPPG, WB) into GPF Accounts of Group – D employees of the State

Finance Department notification no 2480-F(Y) dated 24/04/2019 authorizes the Director, Directorate of Pension, Provident Fund and Group Insurance, West Bengal (DPPG, WB) to credit interest into the GPF Accounts of Group D employees of the State for whom balances have been captured and approved in WBIFMS following instructions laid down in the notification no 734-F(J) dated 28/02/2018. DDO of DPPG draws the amount of year-end annual interest for the running subscribers in TR 43 bill from the Pay and Accounts Office-III by debiting 2049-Interest and crediting 8009 state Provident Fund. On completion of the drawal of interest, the same is credited in the subscribers GPF Account.

On advice of the Accountant General, West Bengal (AGWB), in order to ensure true reflection of interest on GPF Accounts of Group D employees in the State Accounts of West Bengal for the period to which it actually pertains, the notification no 2480-F(Y) dated 24/04/2019 is modified to the extent as given below:-

For the running subscribers, after closure of yearly accounts of all the treasuries, interest statements will be generated and finalised by DPPG, WB.
The finalised interest statements will be sent by DPPG, WB to the AGWB online in the AGWB interface of WBIFMS before the closure of State Accounts for the financial year.
AGWB will charge the total amount of interest in the State Accounts by debiting 2049-Interest and crediting 8009-State Provident Fund and provide an acknowledgement no in the AGWB interface of WBIFMS against the interest statements received from DPPG, WB.
On receiving of the acknowledgement no from AGWB, the reflection of the interest will be given in the respective GPF Accounts in WBIFMS.

However, the procedure of drawal of interest for subscribers in respect of whom Final Payment authorities have been issued by DPPG, WB during the year will remain unchanged.

This order will take immediate effect.
