General Election to the West Bengal Legislative Assembly – 2016 to be held on 4th, 11th, 17th, 21st, 25th, 30th April 2016, and 5th May, 2016 in different Assembly Constituencies.

Elections to the Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad and bye-elections to the 341vacant seats of Gram Panchayats, 72 vacant seats of Panchayat samitis and two vacant seats of Zilla Parishads to be held on 3rd day of October, 2015.
Municipal General Elections to the Municipalities/ Municipal Corporations to be held on 03.10.2015 to the Asansol Municipal Corporation and Municipal Corporation with the head quarter at Bidhannagar and Howrah.
Announcement of new projects or programmes or concessions or laying of foundation stones etc. which have the effect of influencing the voters in favours of the party in power is prohibited.
All Offices situated within the area shall remain closed on the date of poll i.e 18.04.2015 & 25.04.2015 so that every employee is able to exercise his/her right of franchise in the election.
In connection with General Election of Municipal Corporation/ Municipality/ Notified Area, West Bengal State Election Commission declares 25th March, 2015 as the last date for making nomination.
West Bengal State election Commission declares the 23rd March, 2015 as the last date for making nomination; the 11th May, 2015 as the date before which the election process shall be completed;
All the Head of the Institution are informed that Schools earmarked as Polling booth not having electricity connection either will apply for temporary or for permanent connection from W.B.S.E.D.C.L. by 14-04-14.
In view of the Parliamentary Election-2014 to be held on 17th, 24th, 30th April 2014, 7th & 12th May, 2014 in the different Parliamentary Constituencies and simultaneous Bye-election to 6 (six) Assembly Constituencies in this State, the Government has declared the said days as public holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
