Nursing Superintendent will act as the Liaison Officer between the Institution concerned and the Directorate of Health Services and other Nursing Officer of other Institution.
At the time of appointment, all nursing personnel belonging to West Bengal Nursing Service and West Bengal General Service shall be posted at the District Hospitals, Sub-Divisional Hospitals, State General Hospitals or Speciality Care Units and continue for at least 3 years before consideration for transfer.
In partial modification of all previous orders in respect of the uniform prescribed for nursing personnel under the Directorate of Health Services, Govt. of West Bengal, the following specifications are prescribed as uniform for nursing personnel while on duty:
Revised job responsibilities of different categories of nursing personnel under WBNS, Department of Health & Family Welfare Department, Govt. of West Bengal according to annexure – I, II, III, & IV.
Age of retirement of all categories of nursing personnel who are holding regular appointment and are in service on the 01.09.2018 shall be enhanced from 60 years to 62 years, with immediate effect.
Deputy Nursing Superintendent is second in command in the Nursing Administration of the hospital. She will be responsible for management and supervision of nursing services of the various department of the hospital.
In such cases the overdrawal for the period from 01-01-2008 to 31-03-2008 shall be recovered with reference to unrevised pay drawn prior to 01-04-2008 as in the said period pay under W.B.S. (ROPA) Rules, 2009 is notional.
West Bengal Nursing Personnel (Placement on Trainee Reserve) Rules, 2009 shall be applicable for all categories of nursing personnel employed in the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal, and borne in the cadres of the West Bengal Nursing Service, the West Bengal General Service.
Selection as Trainee Reserve will be strictly on the basis of merit, i.e. marks obtained in concerned Entrance Examination. Candidates should apply for obtaining No Objection Certificate in the prescribed format enclosed together with this.
Governor has been pleased to enhance washing allowances of Nursing Staff from Rs. 25/- (Twenty five) only per month to Rs. 150/- (One hundred and fifty) only per month in respect of washing charges of the uniform with effect from 01.08.2013.
