There shall be a general Service known as the West Bengal Sub-ordinate Information and Cultural Service under the administrative control of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department.

The officer holding the post of Bengali Translator may exercise option to come under ROPA, 2009 on the basis of such notional pay in relaxation of note 4 below Rule-6 of WBS (ROPA) Rules ’09.
Maavoi is the West Bengal Health Scheme for the Journalists who are accredited with the Department of I&CA, has taken effect from 01.03.2016.
Government has fixed rates for release of advertisements by the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs, Govt. of West Bengal in various print media for the year 2015-16.
In view of the Parliamentary Election-2014 to be held on 17th, 24th, 30th April 2014, 7th & 12th May, 2014 in the different Parliamentary Constituencies and simultaneous Bye-election to 6 (six) Assembly Constituencies in this State, the Government has declared the said days as public holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
