Ref: Queries from the teacher educators of the Institutions, affiliated to this Board

Sir/Madam,

In view of the requests from the teacher educators and the heads of the affiliated institutions for clarifications regarding the Evaluation of Practicum Courses for Part-I under New Syllabus-2014 of the West Bengal Board of Primary Education, I am directed to inform you that:

(i) As regards the evaluation in Practicum – Course in Pre-internship Process Based Skill Enhancing Programme (P-1), the instructions noted in the Syllabus-document at page no. 54-55 will be followed strictly including the guidelines, issued by this Board till now.

(ii) As regards the evaluation in Practicum- Course in Creative Drama, Fine Arts, Physical & Health Education (P-02), the instructions noted in the Syllabus-document at page nos. 56-58 will be followed strictly including the guidelines noted below. It is repeated that there will be no external evaluation in this paper. A summary table for such evaluation is enclosed herewith.

Term End Summative 10 10 15 Performance Assessment (on evaluation spot) Student-teachers shall be asked to perform/ present/ display at least two objects of fine arts/ two performances of creative drama/songs/Music/recitation/dance, linking at least two classroom-activities/knowledge-areas/lessons etc. for assessment in terms of (i) Relevance (ii) simplicity and easy present ability (iii) Low cost (iv) learner friendliness (v) Environment friendlinessFor assessment in Physical and Health Education: Two performances/Activities/ sports skills in the Physical Education Area inclusive of Yogaasanas (2×5) and one Health Awareness project/ display of Awareness Posters/ Health Survey Reports (1×5) shall be considered Indicators for assessment of Physical Education Skills:(i) Physical Fitness: 02

(iii) Ability to link it to learning: 02
