Recruitment Rules for Tahasildars (Irrigation) under Irrigation and Waterways

NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the power conferred by the proviso to article 309 of the Constitution of India and in supersession of all previous notifications on the subject, the Governor is pleased hereby to make, with immediate effect, the following rules regulating the recruitment to the posts of Tahasildars (Irrigation) in the Circle of the Irrigation and Waterways Directorate, Government of West Bengal, under the Department of Irrigation and Waterways, Government of West Bengal.

Rules

The method of, and the qualifications required for, the recruitment to the posts of Tahasildars (Irrigation) in the Circle of the Irrigation and Waterways Directorate, Government of West Bengal, under the Department of Irrigation and Waterways, Government of West Bengal, shall be as detailed below:-

(1) Method of recruitment:

(a) 80% by direct recruitment (selection) from the candidates sponsored by the Employment Exchange and from the departmental candidates having requisite qualifications;

(b) 20% by promotion from the Barkandaz under the Circle of the Irrigation and Waterways Directorate, Government of West Bengal having-

(i) the qualifications as mentioned for the direct recruitment; and

(ii) experience of 5 years as Barkandaz;

(2) Qualification for direct recruitment

Must have passed Madhyamik examination or equivalent examination from any recognize Board or institution;

(3) Appointing authority

Superintending Engineer of the Circle of the Irrigation and Waterways Directorate, Government of West Bengal.
