Ministry of Information & Cultural Affairs is a nodal ministry mainly responsible for the information, culture, film and archaeological heritage related activities.
Governor is pleased to make West Bengal Sub-ordinate Information and Cultural Services (Recruitment) Rules, 2016 regulating the recruitment to the posts under Sub-ordinate Information and Cultural Service.
Government has revised the rates for release of advertisements in various print media, as detailed in the Annexure. The revised rates shall remain effective upto 31.03.2019.
West Bengal Heritage Commission will constitute an Administrative and Legal Committee in its meeting (in respect of matters of staff both redeployed employees from other Department of the Government or those engaged on contract or otherwise or any other matter of this nature)
The scale of pay of Sub-Divisional Information & Cultural Officer was revised from Scale No.12 i.e. Rs. 1500-3410/- to Scale No. 14 i.e. Rs. 5500-11325/- with effect from 1.1.96 notionally with actual benefit from 1.1.2007.
All Government advertisements for display advertisements in print media and electronic media (television) will continue to be released by the I&CA Department, but such releases henceforth will be made through empanelled Release Agencies in the respective newspapers and TV channels.
After negotiations with different media houses the rates of advertisements of different newspapers have been fixed which will take effect from 01.06.2012.
Under the scheme the folk artistes in the age group of 18 to 60 years are getting retainer allowance of Rs. 1 thousand per month and the folk artistes above 60 years are getting Rs. 1000 as pension.
An accredited Journalist shall apply to the Pr. Secy./ OSD & E.O. Spl. Secy., I&CA Department in Form A and submit to Kolkata Information Centre (for Kolkata) and to D.I.C.O. (in District).
Computerization of Ration Card in West Bengal has been started and will be continued upto 09th February, 2014. All concerned are requested to contact to respective ration shop at the earliest.
