Public Works Department provides infrastructural support for both original and repair works to all the departments directly under the Govt. of West Bengal.

A permanent recruitment committee is being set up to conduct the examination process for appointment to Group-C posts under die-in harness category in Public Works Department.
SAE is required to submit bills to the Sub-Divisional Office within 7 days after claim of the bills by the Contractor. AE should submit the same to Divisional Office within 15 days. EE should submit to concerned Treasury or PAO within fortnight.
No officer should correspond direct with an authority superior to the officer under whom he is immediately serving, or with the State Government or the Government of India.
