West Bengal Government Notification
Public Works Department provides infrastructural support for both original and repair works to all the departments directly under the Govt. of West Bengal.
An Act to provide for regulation and control the activities of persons dealing with public works under the Government of West Bengal in the Public Works Department and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto;
With effect from 1st February, 2019 such workers, on attaining the age of 60 (sixty) years, will be entitled to one time terminal benefit of Rs. 3.00 Lakh in place of existing Rs. 2.00 Lakh.
Issuance of N.O.C. in favour of incumbents applying through proper channel/ intimation from the applicants to the employer for appearing in the recruitment Examination of P.S.C., West Bengal or other organisation for the post of Assistant Engineer or else.
At present there are 21 (Twenty One) number of Inspection Bungalows under the purview of online booking system. Booking is to be made only through the authorized website of PWD http://pwdbungalow.wb.gov.in.
Governor has already been pleased to create 21 numbers additional posts of Senior Superintending Engineers and also to convert existing 41numbers of non-functional berth of Superintending Engineer [Selection Grade] into the post of Senior Superintending Engineers.
Sub-Assistant Engineer (Elect.) in order to be eligible for promotion, must, interalia, pass a written examination in Departmental Rules and Accounts procedure which will be conducted by the P.S.C., West Bengal.
Governor is pleased in the interest of Public Service to amend the nomenclature of the following posts of the Chief Engineers belonging to the Engineering cadre under PWD.
Executive Engineer (Electrical) whosoever posted in office of the Chief Engineer, South Zone, P.W.Dte. has to discharge duties and responsibilities as assigned to him in the office of the Chief Engineer (Works) Electrical, P.W.D.
Procedure for execution of works at a short tender notice for emergent works e.g. Visit of High level dignitaries for which PWD is required to make arrangement for Pandal, Lighting etc.
Governor is further pleased to direct that a Bid Evaluation Committee (BEC) be constituted under Superintending Engineers who are the tender inviting authorities for all works beyond the tender accepting power of Executive Engineers.
