Governor is pleased to declare that the days as specified at List-III may be observed as Sectional Holidays in the year 2023 for the employees of different communities mentioned against the day.

List of maximum number of holidays to be observed in the academic session-2025 (01 January, 2025 to 31 December, 2025)
Governor has been pleased to declare the date i.e. 3rd September, 2025 (Wednesday) as State Government Holiday on account of Karam Puja, 2025.
Birthday of Netaji – 23rd January, Thursday; Saraswati Puja (Shree Panchami) – 30th January, Thursday; Doljatra – 9th March, Monday; Good Friday – 10th April, Friday; Bengali New Year’s Day/ Birthday of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar – 14th April, Tuesday;
All Government Offices, Organizations under it, Undertakings, Corporations, Boards, Statutory and Local Bodies, Educational Institutions etc. situated within the Assembly Constituency will remain closed on the respective dates so that every employee is able to exercise his/her right to franchise in the election.
Governor is pleased to declare the days as specified at List I below to be Public Holidays during the year 2021. List II which are not declared to be public holidays. List III observed as Sectional Holidays in the year 2021.
List of Public Holidays for the year 2012 i.e. 1st January, 2012 to 31st December, 2012 for the Department of School Education, Govt. of West Bengal. Total number of holidays in this year is 65 days.
Governor is pleased to declare 27th December, 2025 (Saturday) as a Sectional Holiday on account of ‘Prakash Purab’ of Guru Gobind Singh Ji for the employees belonging to Sikh community.
