What’s more dear Mr Bubai, you should consider the fact that these notifications should always be made three-four months in advance.
Consider this, families of students and teachers alike have planned holiday outings well in advance. If they were to cancel them now, just few weeks in advance, several hotels would not return their money.
The outrage, as Suniti Kumar Chattaraj pointed out so eloquently, is all about the timing of the decision and not the decision itself.
Furthermore, let me point out an online etiquette as I feel you are not aware of the fact that writing in CAPITALS is akin to shouting on the net and is considered rude and uncouth. Your tone of writing also suggested the same.
I would humbly request you to moderate your tone, language and attitude and think before you launch into a criticism towards a group of people (here it was teachers) or an individual in particular. It is very easy and tempting to criticize others, but to place yourself in another person’s shoes and looking at the other side of the coin is both admirable and the right thing to do.
I hope you will meditate on these comments.

(P.S. Just to clear it here, I am a journalist not a teacher, but I felt bad on behalf of the many teachers who had commented in this thread that you had abused. So, I felt it was my duty to reply to you)
(P.P.S. Many of my friends are teaches and some of them are from eminent SSC schools in Kolkata. They have shown me answer scripts of their students from Class VII, VIII, IX and XI. They were horrendous to say the least! Most of the students can’t write properly be it Bengali or English. If the students can’t even express themselves properly, how can they hope to compete in all-India exams. The pass percentage in ICSE, CBSE schools is 40% and not 20% is in some SSC schools. The correction too is much more strict. So please do not tell me that losing 15 days of school will affect them in any negative way.
