All cheques issued by the State Government shall be valid for three months from the Date of issue. Thus a cheque bearing date 01.04.2013 is payable at any time up to 30.06.2013.

Interest Rate on General Provident Fund (01.04.2026 to 30.06.2026)
Governor is pleased to decide that during the period from 01.04.2026 to 30.06.2026, accumulation at the credit of the subscribers to General Provident Fund shall carry interest at the rate of 7.1% (Seven point one percent) per annum.

Grant of Ad-hoc Bonus to State Government Employees, 2024-25
Government employees who are not covered by any of the productivity linked Bonus Scheme and whose revised emoluments did not exceed Rs. 44,000/- per month as on 31.03.2025 will be entitled to ad-hoc bonus for the accounting year 2024-2025 at the rate of Rs. 6,800/- per head.

Change of Surname Procedure
The execution of the deed should be followed by publication of the change in a daily local news paper as well as in the Calcutta Gazette, the publication being undertaken by the Government servant at his /her expenses.
