The functions of the Finance Department are performed through 5 (five) branches, namely, Audit, Budget, Revenue, Internal Audit and Institutional Finance.
Governor is pleased to declare 17th September (Friday), 2021 as a Sectional Holiday on occasion of KARAM PUJA for the employees belonging to Tribal Communities employed in State Govt. Offices all over the State.
During the year 2015-2016, accumulation at the credit of the subscribers to General Provident Fund or similar shall carry interest at the rate of 8.7% per annum w.e.f. 01.04.2015.
During the period from 01.07.2019 to 30.09.2019, accumulation at the credit of the subscribers to General Provident Fund and other similar funds shall carry interest at the rate of 7.9% per annum.
The attendance of officers and staff upto the level of Deputy Secretary will be staggered – one, from 09.30 A.M. to 02.30 P.M. and the other, from 12.30 P.M. to 05.30 P.M. Roster may be prepared accordingly.
On the basis of unrevised pay in the unrevised pay scale under W.B.S. (ROPA) Rules, 1990, pay is to be fixed in the revised scale as is allowed vice Finance Department Memo No. 2540-F(P) dated 05.04.2010.
The amount of Pro-rata pension already restored shall be further consolidated w.e.f. 01.01.2020 or from the date on which the amount is restorable whichever is later, by multiplying with 2.57.
During the scrutiny of pension cases received from different Pension sanctioning Authorities (PSA) it is noticed that some of the cases are being sent under the signature of PSA but without proper stamp/ seal.
Governor is pleased to declare 26th October, 2017 (Thursday) as a Sectional holiday and 27th October (Friday) as a General holiday for State Govt. Offices.
Term of office of the Chairman and other Members of the Sixth Pay Commission, West Bengal is extended for a further period of six months w.e.f. 27.05.2016.
