The functions of the Finance Department are performed through 5 (five) branches, namely, Audit, Budget, Revenue, Internal Audit and Institutional Finance.
Provident Fund
Government of West Bengal shall carry interest at the rate of 7.1% (seven point one percent) per annum. The rate will be in force during this financial year for the period from 01.10.2022 to 31.12.2022.
Holiday
Governor is pleased to declare the 27th October, 2022 (Thursday) as a Public Holiday on account of Bhratridwitiya under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881.
GRIPS
Considering the substantial expansion in the scope and ambit of online collection of receipts through GRIPS, the government for some time past has been contemplating to upgrade the existing GRIPS to provide additional facilities.
Corona Virus, Stamp Duty
Government in the Finance (Revenue) Department have considered the necessity for remission of Stamp Duty temporarily by 2% for several types of registration up to 31st December, 2022
Salary
Salary including Grant-in-Aid salary, Wages, remuneration, stipend, honorarium for the month of September and October, 2022 will be paid on 28th & 29th September, 2022 and 21st October, 2022 respectively.
